Hello, everyone! The Omaha-Council Bluffs Miniature Guild will have a display at the upcoming Train and Toy Show in Omaha, Nebraska. Come see our goodies and a whole bunch of fantastic, wee trains!

We'll have two tables full of our dollhouse miniatures displays for you to peek at and information about our club. Model railroading and dollhouse miniatures make a great combo, so we're excited to spend this time with the NE-IA Railroaders. We hope to see you there!

Weeping Water Miniatures Display: Helen Burton

OCBMG member Helen Burton currently has some miniatures on display in Weeping Water, Nebraska. Helen joined OCBMG in 2015, but her love of miniatures began back in her childhood in Chicago. Helen fell in love with the Thorne Rooms and Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle. Who can blame her?

I asked Helen to tell us a bit about the miniatures in the window. She said the travel trailer was her first kit and was quite the challenge. The general store in the fish tank is a memory of a family store. The rest are simply fun ideas: a hat store in a hat box, and a library in a book:

Ongoing Miniatures Display 2016

The Omaha-Council Bluffs Miniature Guild and the Shoe Box Bunch are excited to announcing that we're going to have an ongoing miniatures display throughout 2016 at the LaVista Community Center in Nebraska. Throughout the year, we'll be changing out the display to reflect seasonal changes and holidays. Our groups have very talented miniaturists, so you'll be able to see all kinds of interesting, unique, and exciting mini builds.

Omaha Area Miniatures Displays: October 2015

October is National Dollhouse and Miniatures Month, and the members of OCBMG and the Shoe Box Bunch are participating in two displays to celebrate in 2015. We'd love it if you would come out to see our creations and enjoy our miniatures. Here are the locations:

2014 Miniatures Round-Up

The Omaha-Council Bluffs Miniature Guild and the Shoe Box Bunch rounded out 2014 with many fun activities. On October 11, we held a free miniatures display in Papillion, Nebraska. We spent the day visiting with our guests and showing off our amazing builds:

There were so many things to look at -- rows and rows of multi-scaled beauties. It was truly fantastic:

Also in October, we held displays at the Omaha Swanson Library, Sump Memorial Library in Papillion, and La Vista Public Library.

In late November and early December, both clubs contributed to a Christmas display at the Sarpy County Museum in Bellevue, Nebraska. Christmas displays are always a big hit, and we enjoy sharing our builds at this magical time of the year.

In mid-December, OCBMG and the Shoe Box Bunch both held holiday parties. There was a lot of delicious food and a lot of minis! Holiday parties are never complete without gift bags:

OCBMG is proud to mention that several of our members had articles and/or photographs published in the NAME Miniature Gazette in 2014. We also received the NAME Blue Ribbon Club Award for 2013–2014, which is presented to charter clubs that contribute to their local communities and the miniature community at large. We look forward to earning this award again in 2015!
